Baroness (Trish) Morris of Bolton is a Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chairman of Committees in the House of Lords. She held a number of shadow ministerial roles, including Education & Skills, Children, Schools & Families and Women, before standing down from the Frontbench in 2010 at her own request. Prior to entering the Lords in 2004, Trish worked in stockbroking and fundraising, was Deputy Chairman of the Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Trust and from 2001-2005 was Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party with responsibility for candidates. She was appointed the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Jordan, Kuwait and the Palestinian Territories in November 2012.
Trish was the first Chancellor of the University of Bolton and now chairs their Centre for Islamic Finance.
Trish served as Chairman of the Conservative Middle East Council from 2010 to 2015 and is Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Qatar and Vice-Chairman of the Britain Palestine Group.
