H.E. Ibrahim Ameer, The Minister of Finance of Maldives

His Excellency (H.E.) Ibrahim Ameer graduated in Bachelor’s degree in Economics majoring in International Economics from Faculty of Business, Class of 2008. He is the currently the Minister of Finance at Republic of Maldives and was appointed to this position in November 2018 and is responsible for overseeing the financial policies and economic management of Maldives. 

H.E. Ibrahim Ameer is a former US Fulbright Scholar who graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a Master in Economics. H.E. Ibrahim highlights his ambitions to boost the Maldives’ economy, emphasizing initiatives like decentralizing investment, cultivating a new culture of openness and transparency for investors, and building new sectors outside of the country’s mainstay of tourism.
